Fringe – fringe in Italian, an edge
ornamental made up of threads or strips –
it is the first collection designed by Michael
Anastassiades for Mutina. This is a
element formed by parallel segments of
two different widths, engraved directly
on the surface. The thick joints, which they create
an effect similar to that of a brick,
can be exploited to give life to
different patterns, simply by intertwining
and changing the orientation of the modules.
In this way carpets are obtained
seamlessly, with or without
edges, which delimit spaces by adapting
perfectly to any environment.

MUTINA

Mutina tiles are the result of collaboration with the best designers from all over the world, who bring ideas and creativity to the ceramic tile sector. The collection stands out for its unique textures, bold colors and innovative designs. The tiles are made with high quality materials, taking inspiration from architectural and design elements. An industrial reality of ceramic surfaces that has seen various production interruptions to be reborn, expanded and reinvented each time by adopting an aesthetic thought that finds space in architecture and in contemporary art. Delicate imagery, sensitivity, harmony and authentic elegance are the characteristics of Mutina.

“The collaboration with the designer Patricia Urquiola was truly passionate and engaging, an experience of great professional enrichment for both of us. Patricia immediately understood and shared our company project, our philosophy and our idea of research, both chromatic and material, and managed to transfer all its creative exuberance to the new collection without distorting our identity, which is much more sober and achromatic".
